  1. Back in the saddle finally! Got some catching up to do after Covid but I feel great.  Following my practice pages religiously and staying patient! It's like starting a book and not peaking at the ending before you are done...lol!

Still loving this and getting a little bit better every practice.

Thank you but I can't take credit. They are from a friend's garden. We are very lucky!

  2. Been out with Covid for awhile so haven't felt quite up to practicing yet. Actually tested positive again AFTER first quarantine and have to quarantine TWICE due to a "rebound" effect from medicines to treat it!  If not for a CRAZY ITCHY RASH and a red swollen face, I would be playing by today but the heat is too much in the shed just yet...thats o.k. though.  I'll stare at it from the house just a few more days and then it is ON !!! LOL

Hope you get well soon. I've gone through COVID this past week too. Fortunately without other side effects.

There's many practical things you can do, if you don't feel too tired and crave to hit on something. Even just listening to music, counting a song you want to learn, pad exercises, finger training just with one stick, air drumming... Or just rest. 😘👏👏👏

Great advice Juan!  Think I may have caught this Covid thing again but am taking your advice this time. Practicing daily regardless but learning how to read the music per the course on line on rough days. Stephen is such a great teacher! Like being able to pause and rewind.

Hope you are well over your Covid period and up and running!!

  3. Hi Brooke! I'm new as well but on line lessons are so user friendly. Stephen.is a wonderful teacher! Welcome....

  4. Found this pic of my first so called "drum set". Wow...one year ago I would work in health care from 6 a.m.to 7 p.m., come home and care for my husband until he was asleep and stay up late fake playing to UTube videos. So grateful...it kept me sane! 625131180_20210313_1849112.thumb.jpg.2a94a6355c6ed6198df352910d828ef6.jpg

  5. 2nd day of Warrior Way practice and it came together better today. Really worked hard and enjoyed it as much as yesterday.

I DID realize that I did NOT have the entire Back in Black sheet music and could NOT figure out what I was missing!!! Stephen (UTube) left my ass in the dirt towards the end of how to play it....guitar solo to verse transition??? .....but I kept trying until I realized that I was basically trying to take the test without the book!!! So, getting ready to print out ALL of Back in Black for a reward again tomorrow. Should be a bit easier, huh!!!!

Seeing the sheet music as you practice makes it all come together for me! Amazing 👏 when it starts to click...My reward was spending the last 10 minutes of the hour banging out Back in Black and actually understanding what I was supposed to do!! I LOVED it! Look forward to tomorrow 😊

    Cochise here I come!!!! 20220524_161242.thumb.jpg.bdc2a56c8c48bdcbbe927c8be4f3508a.jpg

So you were there! Great! Love to see you engaging so good with us. I'll look for you in the next one.

Juan, I love the support and hope I can live up to the expectations! Lol

I have never posted ANY type of video in my life so it will be a minute before I catch on to that one. I'm also very "stage shy" but will give it a try. Oh yeah....dont forget "Fell on Black Days", yet another great one by Soundgarden!  Though I do find myself meshing with "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit for sure!!!  Funny.....when my husband's small mens church group comes over on Saturday mornings he can find them all in the shed getting down to "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed.

    Gotta love that.....20220304_082442.thumb.jpg.8622104f408590d295d930bf4616eb51.jpg

I'm so far behind the geeks at this point but I'll get caught up. Only took me 2 days to figure out how to resize a profile pic but I'm super proud!!

There are easy recording methods and we will be more than happy to guide you through all the setting up and posting thing. Don't let that keep you from recording yourself. It is a huge thing for practice being able to watch and listen to ourselves. Plus, it is always warm and exciting to share a video with the community.

Posting a video seems cringe worthy and daunting but it is on my list for sure! Appreciate the pep talk and will follow the advice as soon I figure it out.....thanks again...

  8. Thanks for the great encouragement Pierre! It's amazing how just one nice word can get you so motivated.

I think finding my way around the IT part of this may be the hardest part! It's going to take me some time for sure buy I look forward to it....
