  1. Hi Christine, Playing open handed is so different it’s fun to learn. I actually practice playing that way quite a bit. For me personally it’s fun to experiment and try new techniques.

      I should try open-handed just to see how it is — I’m so comfortable with the way I play that I tend not to want to experiment, which is kind of admitting I am a stick-in-the-mud. 😄 

      I have seen Ben Minal on YouTube play open-handed and he looks like such a wizard at the kit, whipping up his mojo.

      It's godo try different thing, I think it exercises the two arms. When I was learning "Clocks' it seemed ridiculous to switch from ride to hi-hat using different hands so I played that one cross-handed 🙂

      I prefer open handed though - the toms and RH crash just seem nearer 🙂
