Why did I start drumming? Started only a few years ago. Have played flute professionally 30+ years (including Carnegie). One occasion was part of a backup band for a Beatles tribute in Houston (audience 5,000!). On risers behind the drummer, my stand mate (clarinetist) and I were so impressed we vowed to begin drumming. I was the one that carried through. I bought buckets from Home Depot and sticks from a local shop the next day. After a week, I bought a proper drum kit. A few weeks later I found I had missed Rush's R40 concert in Houston. Being a recent zealous rock convert, I discovered they were playing next in Phoenix. Didn't wait a moment- got a concert ticket, jumped on a plane and headed for R40. So worth it!!
