Let me explain…

The ‘ol Tube has been great for getting information about the drums out to a much larger audience. Drum covers, lessons, clinics…seriously, I wish I would have had this kind of access when I was coming up and first learning the drums.

But life is like a magnet and with every positive comes a negative. At some point Olympic style feats on the drums took the place of real musicality. It’s not about the art a lot of times. It’s about speed. Sheer physical prowess. And that’s fun too…there’s a place for that. But you always have to bring it back to the music.

That’s exactly what I try to do with this lesson. Watch the lesson below, download the sheet music, and work on your speed, clarity, and endurance all with one exercise.
