A couple of days ago I came across a song that felt like a normal halftime shuffle but there was something off. Now I know why, it was written in 5/8, the sticking is something I still have to get used to. Stephen says: October 13, 2017 at 7:39 pm So glad it helped Constantijn! The sticking threw me for a loop but I am now making progress. Even though this is good practice, I’ve found that other shuffles help me more by branching out with my practice time and leaving complicated time signatures to “the Kid Down the Street”. Well done Sir! Stephen says: October 17, 2017 at 2:48 pm Thanks Bob! Barry Hurley says: October 18, 2017 at 2:52 pm Reminds me of a beat I did a while back in 5’s which had feet in place of where you use hands. Bass drum played 1,3,5 and hi-hat on 2 and 4. Hands played on top to get this cool cross rhythm going with different accenting. I must send you on a recording of the beat and see what you make of it.
