Learn the basic groove. After you are comfortable with the pattern begin to add the 3 drum fills that are talked about in the lesson. Become comfortable with transitioning from the hi-hat to the ride cymbal with a fill smoothly before moving on to the next lesson in this series. Add a groove and take the linear pattern through each of the given permutations (A-G). Be sure that when you come back in the groove starts immediately. Adjust the ending of the fill according to where it is in the measure (crash, hi-hat lift, snare slap, etc.). COUNT!!! Beginner: 50 bpm Intermediate: 70 bpm Advanced: 100 bpm
